Earth Pyramids - Great Dolomites drive
So the end of a spectacular day, Alessandro took me to see the earth pyramids I had planned to see the day before. The structures themselves are amazing, but it was a surprise to see them surrounded by such lush landscape. And of course, the ever present Dolomites in the background. I had been expecting to see them out on their own in a barren environment.
After returning to Bolanzo, I reluctantly cancelled my 7pm dinner reservation at Castel Flavon which was another highlight I had been anticipating. I was simply too tired. Alessandro had warned the high altitude could lead to fatigue. I weighed up the cost of the taxi to and from the Castel and my capacity to enjoy the night and opted to go back to a nearby restaurant Fink! for an early meal. The total cost was approximately what the taxi each way would have cost and I was in bed by 8pm. Good choice, you can't do everything :)
